Our first of four episodes about the life and work of one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century. What killed David Lewis in 2001? In this first episode of the series, we begin with the death, and return to the birth, of David Lewis, and hear about his journey from sick little boy in Oberlin, Ohio to teenager learning about free will with Iris Murdoch. Throughout, we look at how time travel led David Lewis to his views about the nature of time, the self, and existence in a four-dimensional universe. Speakers include R. Jay Wallace, Mark Schroeder, Steffi Lewis, Donald Lewis, Ellen Lewis, Alan Hajek, John Bigelow, and Meghan Sullivan.
